Get to know our new Sales Development Coordinator
What is your previous job experience
I was previously working in sales within the medical and healthcare sectors across the Middle East. My roles involved driving sales growth, establishing and maintaining relationships, and representing companies at medical conferences. I managed sales for various medical products, including in vitro diagnostics, medical furniture, and other medical supplies in the UAE and Jordan.
What will your role at the Møller Institute consist of / what part of the world are you responsible for?
In my role as a Sales Development Coordinator at the Møller Institute, I am responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies for the Middle East and Africa. This involves identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, and managing the sales process to drive growth. Additionally, I ensure that my clients are satisfied by providing excellent service and addressing their needs effectively.
Do you have any academic achievements?
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering. This provided me with a strong foundation in the technical aspects of medical technologies and their applications.
I also have a MBA from Anglia Ruskin University. This advanced degree equipped me with business management skills, strategic thinking, and leadership capabilities relevant to my career in sales and development.
What appealed to you about this position and led you to join the team?
The story behind my interest in the Møller Institute is quite amusing. My husband knew I was searching for a sales position focused on the healthcare sector. However, despite various interviews, I often felt that the roles weren’t quite the right fit for me, so I declined them for several reasons. In an attempt to help, my husband began sending me a range of random sales job postings, many of which were unrelated to my experience or interests.
When he sent me the role at the Møller Institute, I decided to investigate the organisation before diving into the job description. I was excited to discover that the Møller Institute specialises in creating customised leadership programmes for organisations. Leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship were among my favourite subjects during my MBA, so the focus of the Møller Institute resonated deeply with me.
Upon reviewing the job description, I realised that the role closely aligned with my previous experience while offering opportunities for personal and professional growth. This combination of relevance and development potential made the position particularly appealing, which is why I applied and am thrilled to have been accepted.
How have you found working at the Møller institute so far?
Having been at the Møller Institute for just over three months, I’m already impressed with the healthy work environment and the supportive team. The collaborative atmosphere has made it easy to integrate and start contributing effectively. I’m excited about the opportunities to grow and make an impact here, and I look forward to what the future holds as I continue to settle into the role.
Are there any upcoming programmes or projects you’re excited about?
Yes, we have some exciting upcoming programmes from the Middle East that I’m looking forward to. I’m particularly eager to see how clients will be impressed by our customised programmes. As part of Churchill College, University of Cambridge, we are not just an ordinary education institute; our affiliation sets our standards at a high level that aligns with our clients’ expectations. It will be rewarding to observe how well our programmes meet their needs and receive their feedback.
How do you spend your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy being a mother to my two beautiful daughters, who are seven years apart. I enjoy doing puzzles and coloring with my older daughter and spending time with my younger one. On weekends, my husband takes us to new places to explore, and I also keep in touch with my family in Jordan. I also like to take walks alone sometimes for some personal time. Balancing family activities with some quiet moments and exploring new places keeps me refreshed and happy.
What do you hope you achieve during your time at the Møller Institute?
At the Møller Institute, I’m excited to drive recognition of our programmes and have people actively seek me out. I want to increase awareness about the importance of investing in employee development, showcasing its benefits for both organisations and personal growth.
On a personal level, I’m eager to empower myself by developing new skills and advancing my career. I look forward to gaining deeper insights into leadership and strategic growth, and building a strong professional network. I’m also excited about embracing new challenges that will push me to grow and become a more effective and confident leader.
