Asli Derya is Learning Propositions Director at Cambridge University Press and Assessment, where she leads the development of innovative online and executive education programmes in partnership with University of Cambridge academics and external organisations. With extensive experience in learning design, digital education, leadership development and organisational learning, she is passionate about creating impactful learning experiences that translate evidence-based educational practice into meaningful professional and organisational outcomes. As a member of the Education Standards Committee, Asli contributes expertise in learning design, curriculum development, assessment strategy and quality assurance, supporting the review and approval of programmes to ensure they meet high academic and educational standards.
Professional experience
Asli’s experience spans higher education, professional learning, and corporate learning and development, giving her a distinctive perspective on what makes leadership and development effective in practice. Today, as Learning Propositions Director at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, she leads multidisciplinary teams to create and scale learning experiences for professionals and organisations around the world.
Before joining Cambridge, Asli was Learning Design Director at Imperial College London and held senior learning and development roles at Ernst & Young LLP, where she led digital learning strategy for the EMEIA Financial Services business.
Her approach combines evidence-based learning design with a strong focus on application, bringing together reflection, collaboration, practice and feedback to help people turn new thinking into action. Asli holds an MSc in Human Resource Development and Consultancy, has served as an External Examiner for the Chartered Management Degree Apprenticeship, and was a Board Director of the eLearning Network from 2019–2021. She is also a regular conference speaker and panel contributor on leadership development, learning design, digital learning and the future of learning.
