Carrie J. Fletcher is currently based in London, where she recently completed coursework for an M.Sci. degree in the London Business School’s (LBS) Sloan Leadership & Strategy Programme for global business executives. She partners with LBS faculty on the development of leadership case studies and provides master’s degree level teambased leadership instruction. Ms. Fletcher is also an Affiliate at Harvard Law School’s Executive Education program (HLSEE), where she was previously the Executive Director. She works with law firms and legal departments to develop customized leadership programs for managing partners, emerging law firm leaders, and general counsel from around the world.

Her instructional design and teaching work focus on the development of core individual, team, and organizational leadership skills that are usually not taught in law school. Much of her programs focus on leading people and teams, including the development of skills around team function, managing and motivating others, working across differences, effectively delegating and delivering feedback, and aligning team/individual leadership practices with organisational strategy and objectives. Her teaching approach is highly participatory, consisting of a mix of case study, interactive lecture, and workshops. Ms. Fletcher also does a significant amount of diversity-related leadership development work, including designing and teaching in programs for the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, Diversity Lab, and in private law firms, as well as working with organizations and leaders on issues of gender equity and the professional advancement of women.

Before joining Harvard, Ms. Fletcher was the Executive Director of Law Programs at the Fullbridge Program, where she designed curricula and taught in the areas of core professional and business skills development. Before that, spent 18 years in both practicing and business-side roles at large law firms. From 2007-2013, she worked in professional and leadership development at Goodwin Procter LLP, after practicing complex commercial and soft intellectual property litigation from 1996-2007 (initially in Chicago, and then at Foley & Lardner’s Boston office).

Ms. Fletcher earned her M.Sci in Leadership & Strategy from London Business School in February 2019. She received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and her B.A., with distinction, also from the University of Michigan.
