Gbenga Oyebode is the co-founder of Aluko & Oyebode, one of the largest integrated law firms in Nigeria, where he is currently of counsel, advising organisations on matters relating to energy and natural resources, telecommunications, project finance and aviation.

He is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and an attorney-at-law of the Supreme Court of New York State.

Gbenga holds bachelor of laws degrees from the University of Ife and the Nigerian Law School as well as a master of laws degree from the University of Pennsylvania, he is also a graduate of the advanced management program at Harvard Business School. Gbenga is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the International Bar Association.

In 2000, Gbenga was conferred with one of Nigeria’s highest honours, the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He was also conferred with the Belgian Royal Honour of ‘Knight of the Order of Leopold’ in 2007.

Gbenga is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Ford Foundation, New York and Carnegie Hall, New York.

In addition to Gbenga’s previous positions as Chairman of Access Bank Plc and Director of MTN Nigeria Plc, he is currently the Chairman of Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc, Chairman of PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc and Chairman of CFAO Nigeria. He also serves on the Boards of Nestle Nigeria Plc, Lafarge Africa Plc, Socfinaf S.A.

Gbenga is passionate about education and the arts. He serves on the Global Advisory Council of the African Leadership Academy and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Director of Teach for All, and the Chairman of Teach for Nigeria.
