James is a practising senior in-house lawyer, delivering insight to law firms on clients’ perspectives and creating and growing client relationships. He has worked with various law firms on Møller programmes over a number of years, delivering and facilitating sessions to help leaders:
- improve client acquisition, growth and retention through developing a better understanding of clients’ perspectives
- develop greater commercial awareness
- improve their ability to identify clients’ needs and sell appropriate services from across the whole firm
- trouble-shoot relationships and deal constructively with difficult conversations.
James can connect quickly with audiences at all levels, with vital insights being shared in a relaxed style.
James began his career in private practice and worked as an Associate at Allen & Overy LLP before moving in-house. He has held leadership roles in the legal teams of various organisations, including large listed plcs, and his experience of developing and implementing strategy for BT’s global legal team gives insight into broader strategic issues for in-house teams and law firms, including panel construction and work allocation.
